Art & Culture 


Cobb&Co Museum holds Australia’s largest collection of horse-drawn vehicles. Thematic workshops on some weekends and school holidays (blacksmithing, millinery and others) - 27 Lindsay Street, Toowoomba. T (07)4659 4900


Toowoomba Sightseeing: for discovering the city on a bus tour. Multiple thematic tours.


Street Art: visit Toowoomba extensive outdoor gallery with over 80 public art murals created by artists from around the world at the First Coat International Festivals between 2013 and 2017.


Empire Theatre: a heritage listed theatre renowned for its classic Art Deco architecture hosting a large variety of shows.


Toowoomba Repertory Theatre is run by theatre amateurs since 1930 and presents top quality production. It is located at 94 Margaret St near Queens Park.


Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery: with permanent and temporary exhibitions.


University Of Southern Queensland School of Creative Arts holds a series of visual exhibitions throughout the year. Open to the public.

Toowoomba has a large variety of second hand op-shops that are great places to find bargains or unique pieces.

Darling Down Zoo The place to meet a white Lion amongst a variety of other animals. Check feeding times on their website. The zoo is located mid-way between Toowoomba and Warwick.    


West of Toowoomba


Australian Army Flying Museum - Discover the Australian  military aviation history. Free entry, donations accepted. The museum is located in Oakey. Tel. (07)75 147 040  


Gummingurru Aboriginal Sacred Site: an open flat land with remaining of ancient rings of rocks and totems and traditionally used by the Jarowair Clan of the Wakka Wakka nation for their ceremonies. Visit to learn more about the First Nation people culture. The place is in Meringandan. Booking is essential.



Bush walks


Table Top Mountain is one of the popular hikes in Toowoomba for experienced bushwalkers. It is worthwhile to take in the 360º view from the top. There are many other walking trails in Toowoomba region with different level of difficulties. Check the list on the Toowoomba Regional website.

Some items are also offered at the family operated Hannas store on Ruthven Street near Herries Street, in the centre of town. It is a worthwile shop to visit as it offers a wide range of quality fashionable and bush/work clothing & accessories with a friendly old fashion style service.
